The School of Languages, Literatures, Cultures and Linguistics at Monash University is pleased to invite abstracts for submission to the 31st Japanese/Korean Linguistics Conference (JK 31) and the pre-conference workshop to be held in Melbourne, Australia, from 30 October until 2 November 2024.  All sessions will take place in person.

 

Submissions for Pre-conference Workshops

We will accept proposals (500 words) for half-day (3-4 hours) workshops (full-day at our discretion). Submit proposals directly to the committee. We will review them.


  • Proposals are to be limited to 500 words excluding references. They have to
  • consist of a brief outline of the theme and purpose of the workshop, with the initial indication of the people that the organiser(s) intend to encourage to participate.
  • Half-day and full-day workshops will also be considered.
  • Submit the proposals directly to the JK committee at: jkconference31@gmail.com


Submissions for main conference

The JK31 organising committee welcomes abstract submissions for 20-minute oral presentations, followed by 10 minutes for discussion, and for poster presentations. Contributions to any aspect of Japanese/Korean linguistics, or comparison of these languages with other languages, are welcome. Comparative studies of Japanese and Korean are especially encouraged.


  • Do not include author names or affiliations in either the filename or the abstract itself.
  • Indicate in your abstract whether you would prefer an oral presentation or a poster.
  • Submit the proposals directly to the JK committee at: jkconference31@gmail.com
