The Association of Korean Political Studies (AKPS) is pleased to announce the Call for Proposals for the 5th Korean Political Studies Colloquium (KPSC).
KPSC brings together scholars working on Korean politics for a year-long series of virtual workshops (September 2026-May 2027, one per month) designed to help promising in-progress projects move forward through constructive feedback. It is also a great opportunity for network building.
We welcome proposals from scholars working on Korean politics (broadly defined), including those based outside the U.S. and those approaching Korea comparatively. Preference will be given to junior scholars (ABD, pre- and post-doc, or pre-tenure).
To apply, submit a single PDF containing:
- A one-paragraph bio (including your main time zone)
- A two-paragraph paper abstract (500 words max)
- Your CV
Deadline: midnight, August 1, 2026 (EST)
Notifications: by August 15, 2026
Workshops: 1 hour via Zoom, in one of these EST time slots: 8-9AM, 9-10AM, 6-7PM, or 7-8PM
For details, see the CfP above.
