We would like to ask for your support for a petition concerning the future of Korean language education in Australia.
In June 2026, the House Standing Committee on Education recommended that Korean be classified as a supported language rather than a priority language in Australia’s future Asia capability framework. Mandarin, Japanese, Indonesian and Hindi were proposed as Priority Languages, while Korean was excluded.
This is not a final government policy, but a recommendation, so there is still an important opportunity to make our voices heard.
